I’m far from perfect. After writing a bit about T2D, it makes sense to eat as clean as you can.
Does this mean eating perfect?
Not to most of us.
T2D Clean, then, if you will indulge me – starts with cutting carbs and adding greens and veggies. AND A LOT OF MEAT, EGGS, CHEESE & NUTS.
Fish too..
Elimination of bad and addition of some good, early in the game is quite effective. Yes, water, green tea, unsweetened tea and even some coffee is cleaner than diet soda. However dirty it may seem, breaking the sugar & carb addiction must be done in a fashion that will remain sustainable by YOU.

After all, I am not in prison, and there is a reason for me to do so.

And honestly. To get where I needed to go, it was pertinent to choose some things that are not so clean. Big deal, they are garbage and non-nutrient products.
Diet soda does not raise my blood sugar and comes in many flavors. And if it keeps me from eating or drinking carbs and satisfies my thirst, so be it.
There are people that believe that regular soda is better than diet. Not for diabetics and certainly not for obese people.
