Ok. I was I’m a department store. Near the candy counter. And I was looking at a box of Godiva truffles.
Not for me.
(I wish, lol, as I recall they are exquisitely decadent)
My wife’s birthday is in a few weeks. So, adding something forbidden to me, is perfectly fine for her. So I was looking at the Godiva selections- didn’t like the high price tags.
A woman came up and asked the clerk for “sugar free candy for diabetics”.
I told her “pardon me- I am a diabetic, and I’m sure you are looking to buy something special for someone you ❤ love, but the sugar free candy, these chocolates, are loaded with carbs, as substitutes for sugar. You would be best off turning them on to Keto friendly bars, made by Think, that are bigger in portion, taste wonderful, and do not have the impact on blood sugar like these candies will.
Quest makes peanut butter cups, and 4 double packs for $8 at Walmart is fairly inexpensive.
Your loved one may not know about these products, and they are not bad for us diabetics as a special treat.

For those of us with diabetes, there is no reason not to eat one of these as dessert every now and again.
They are an inexpensive treat, at $.60 each.
I do not advocate or shill for any brand. Nor do I really suggest that people buy keto friendly products, but I would be quite remiss if I did not mention them. They may be something useful to a person struggling with breaking their sugar addiction.
I used sugar free gelatin cups that came in a 4 pack from dollar tree.
The sugar free puddings? They are awful because they are addictive. And spike blood sugar (and insulin) levels.
The takeaway? Try keto products and test your blood sugar at 30,60 90 and 120 minutes after, and see which ones you prefer that do not punish your sugar levels.
Happy eating!
